Fatal Motorcycle Crash Near Washington Avenue and Nellis Boulevard [Las Vegas, NV]
Motorcyclist Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 21, 2020) — A rider died in a multi-vehicle motorcycle crash near Washington Avenue and North Nellis Boulevard.
According to police, the deadly collision happened around 8:30 p.m. and involved three vehicles, including the motorcycle.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the 2020 Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle was heading southbound on Nellis Boulevard. Although, while approaching the traffic signal at East Washington Avenue, it slammed into the right side of a 2020 Nissan Rogue, whose driver crossed into its path, while making a left turn.
Due to the impact, the rider was ejected and a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, traveling behind the motorcyclist, crashed into the Nissan, as well.
Tragically, the motorcyclist died at the scene while the Nissan driver sustained minor injuries, later receiving care at Sunrise Hospital.
According to police, neither driver showed any signs of impairment during the investigation. However, the investigation remains, as detectives work to determine the leading cause and liabilities.
