Enrique Roybal Killed in Motorcycle Crash on St. Francis Drive [Santa Fe, NM]
Motorcyclist Rear-Ends Vehicle in Fatal Accident on St. Francis Drive in Santa Fe
SANTA FE, NM (August 13, 2020) – Police identified Enrique Roybal as the victim who died in a motorcycle crash on St. Francis Drive on Thursday night.
According to the New Mexico State Police, the incident happened just south of the intersection with Alamo Drive, near Santa Fe National Cemetery after 9:00 PM.
Based on a report, the 23-year-old Santa Fe man struck the rear-end of a 2004 Subaru Legacy driven by Susan Whittington, 62, of Española. Whittington had stopped in the roadway after striking a deer.
As a result, Roybal died at the scene. In addition, the deer sustained injuries in the incident.
Police are investigating if the victim was been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. However, they don’t have additional information at this time.
