Two Dead after Multi-Car Accident on 25 Freeway [Albuquerque, NM]
Three Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on 25 Freeway near Sunport Boulevard in Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (August 17, 2020) – Police confirmed that two people died in a multi-car accident on 25 Freeway on Monday evening.
According to the Bernalillo County Fire Department, the collision happened near Sunport Boulevard.
Based on a report, three vehicles crashed in the lanes. As a result, the crash impact ejected one person from one vehicle.
Medics said bystanders at the scene performed CPR on the ejected victim. Unfortunately, the victim died at the scene. In addition, a passenger pinned in the back seat of one of the cars also died. Officials did not release the victims’ identities pending kin notification. Crews sent a driver of one of the vehicles to the University of New Mexico Hospital for severe injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
