Jaalen Thompson Involved in Head-On Crash on Amethyst Road [Victorville, CA]
Woman Airlifted after Head-On Crash on Amethyst Road near La Mesa Road in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 7, 2020) – Police identified Jaalen Thompson as the motorist involved in a head-on crash on Amethyst Road on late Friday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near La Mesa Road around 11:30 PM.
Based on a report, Thompson was driving his Toyota Camry west on La Mesa on a green light at the time of the accident. At that time, a dark sedan that was traveling southbound on Amethyst struck his car.
Deputies from the Victorville Fire Department and the Victorville Police Department responded to the scene. They rescued a woman who was trapped inside the sedan and requested to airlift her to a trauma center. Thompson did not sustain major injuries, while crews sent his pregnant girlfriend to a local hospital for an evaluation.
Officials closed the intersection to give way to rescue and clearing operations.
The Victorville Police Department is investigating the crash. At this time, they don’t have the details that led to the head-on collision.
