One Arrested, Two Injured in Hit-and-Run on Carpenter Road [Lacey, WA]
Three Vehicles Involved in Hit-and-Run Accident on Carpenter Road near Sixth Avenue Southeast in Lacey
LACEY, WA (July 31, 2020) – Police arrested one person after a hit-and-run accident that injured two people on Carpenter Road on Friday night.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened near Sixth Avenue Southeast around 9:45 AM.
Based on a report, a Ford Crown Victoria and a Chevrolet Monte Carlo were traveling south in the left lane when the Chevy rapidly accelerated to pass the Ford. Consequently, it entered the right lane, reentered the left lane and clipped the front right quarter of the Ford with its left rear end. Afterward, it then overcompensated to the right, hitting the curb and then swerving left crossing into the northbound lanes, where it struck the front driver’s side of a Honda Accord traveling north. The Chevy driver tried to flee the scene wielding a knife.
As a result, emergency crews said the two drivers of the victim vehicles had minor injuries. However, they only the driver of the Honda Accord to St. Peter Hospital for treatment.
Officers clatter located the suspect as he was walking north on Carpenter Road. Finally, they detained him and gave him a misdemeanor citation.
Authorities strictly remind motorists to not leave the scene after an accident. However, wait for the authorities to arrive. Always stay sober, manage your speed, and avoid reckless driving to avoid getting into an accident.
