Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 50 [El Dorado Hills, CA]
Woman Dies After Being Hit by 2 Cars in El Dorado Hills Pedestrian Accident on Highway 50
EL DORADO HILLS, CA (August 7, 2020) — A driver, who had been involved in a wrong-way crash minutes before, died in Thursday’s pedestrian accident on Highway 50 near Latrobe Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened when the woman was traveling westbound on the eastbound side of the highway.
For unknown reasons, her vehicle veered off the freeway and overturned down a steep embankment. Subsequently, she self-extricated herself out of the overturned vehicle and scaled the 30-foot embankment back onto the highway.
However, as she dashed across the freeway, two westbound vehicles struck her, killing her at the scene.
Both drivers stayed behind and waited for authorities to arrive.
No other information surrounding this crash was available but anyone who can help detectives determine the underlying cause should call the CHP.
