Teen Skateboarder Hit, Killed by Driver in Scottsdale Crash on Shea Boulevard
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (August 7, 2020) — An 18-year-old skateboarder died Thursday when a driver struck him in a crash on Shea Boulevard near North 128th Street.
The fatal incident happened around 1:00 a.m. According to Scottsdale Police, the 18-year-old was riding a skateboard westbound on Shea Boulevard when a driver traveling in the same direction struck him.
Following the accident, the driver stayed back and cooperated with police investigations. Officers have determined that neither speed nor impairment appeared to have had played a role in the crash.
However, the circumstances in which the crash happened remain ambiguous, but any witnesses who can help should call officers.
