Motorcyclist Sustains Major Injuries in Hit-and-Run on 15 Freeway [Escondido, CA]
Hit-and-Run Crash on 15 Freeway at Highway 78 in Escondido
ESCONDIDO, CA (July 31, 2020) – Police confirmed that a motorcyclist suffered major injuries in a hit-and-run on 15 Freeway on Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Highway 78 at approximately 6:30 AM.
Based on a report, the 44-year-old Murrieta man was driving his motorcycle when a small brown vehicle veered into his lane. Consequently, the vehicle struck the victim’s 2014 Yamaha, ejecting him. The vehicle driver did not stop at the scene.
Medics took the victim to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of major, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses believed the suspect vehicle was a 2014 model or newer Kia Soul. It sustained damage on its driver’s side, including a sheared side mirror.
At this point, Investigators are still working on a description of the driver. However, they are asking anyone with information to call the CHP at 858-560-0474.
Authorities strictly remind motorists to not leave the scene after an accident. However, wait for the authorities to arrive. Always stay sober, manage your speed, and avoid reckless driving to avoid getting into an accident.
