San Diego Family Of 8 Lose Two Kids in Deming Car Accident
Brad Sparks, Crystal Sparks Hurt in 10 Freeway Crash Near Milepost 72 That Left Two Children Dead
DEMING, NM (July 31, 2020) – A family is heartbroken after two children died in a rollover crash on July 12 along the 10 Freeway near Milepost 72.
According to a GoFundMe page, Brad Sparks and 7-months-pregnant Crystal Sparks – residents of San Diego, Calif. – were on their way home after staying with their friends in San Antonio, TX.
Traveling with her six children – Cameryn, 13; Bailey, 12; Landon, 10; Sadie, 7; Jackson, 5; and Wilson, 3 – Crystal was at the wheel of the family’s Chevrolet Suburban SUV.
However, Crystal began experiencing fatigue during the drive, which caused the Suburban to travel off the freeway’s lanes and roll multiple times before landing upside down in a remote area.
Reports say the vehicle was almost entirely crushed due to the impact.
Brad, 42, and Crystal, 37, along with their children were trapped in the car. Fortunately, several of the children were able to crawl from underneath the overturned SUV to safety.
Meanwhile, Brad used his Apple watch to contact 911 before the family braved at least an hour for paramedics to arrive.
Unfortunately, when authorities arrived, it had been too late for Bailey, who died at the scene. Landon also succumbed to his injuries, but at a nearby hospital.
Police confirmed that the other children, as well as Crystal’s unborn child, did not sustain any injuries and appear to be healthy.
Crystal sustained a punctured lung, broken ribs, a broken shoulder and a shattered foot while Brad sustained a fractured face and broken knee.
Our thoughts are with the bereaved family and friends of Bailey Sparks and Landon Sparks.
