4 Women Injured in Car Accident at Oakdale Road and Claratina Avenue [Modesto, CA]
4 People Hurt in Modesto Crash
MODESTO, CA (July 30, 2020) – Four women suffered minor to major injuries following Tuesday’s three-car accident at Oakdale Road and Claratina Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 1:40 p.m. accident involved a semi-truck.
An investigation determined that the semi-truck was heading northbound on Oakdale Road and subsequently collided with an eastbound sedan, whose driver had failed to stop at the stop sign on Claratina Avenue.
Police determined that there is no stop sign for Oakdale Road drivers.
The impact sent the sedan into a third vehicle – a Nissan Altima – occupied by an adult female driver and an adult female passenger.
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and provided treatment to the four women.
According to Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear, the women in the Nissan sedan sustained minor injuries while the women in the red sedan sustained minor to major injuries.
Fortunately, the semi-truck driver, an adult male, escaped harm.
At this time, the leading cause of the accident remains unclear; however, if anyone would like to help authorities determine what led to the crash, please call officers.
