Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Involving Pedestrian Near Beach Boulevard [Stanton, CA]
Rider Dies in Motorcycle Collision on Beach Boulevard in Stanton
STANTON, CA (July 23, 2020) – Authorities say a pedestrian possibly caused the fatal accident that killed a motorcyclist near Beach Boulevard and Katella Avenue.
According to the Orange County sheriff’s detectives, witnesses should come forward if they can identify the pedestrian had been involved in the crash.
Reports described the pedestrian as a Caucasian or Hispanic male between 30 and 35 years old. Additionally, the OCSD reported that he had been wearing a white T-shirt and black pants at the time.
According to investigations, the pedestrian began crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk, which caused oncoming traffic to brake abruptly; however as vehicles tried to avoid hitting the man, a motorcyclist, a male in his 50s, died when his bike struck the rear of one of the vehicles that had applied their brakes.
The motorcyclist died at the scene and his name has not been released.
