Man Dies, 3 Injured in Head-On DUI Crash on 90th Street East [Palmdale, CA]

Pablo Barrios Killed, Jaime Gonzalez Arrested and Lourdes Santo and Sophia Barrios Injured in Head-On DUI Accident on 90th Street East Near East Avenue Q

 
PALMDALE, CA (July 20, 2020) — A 26-year-old man died Friday in a suspected DUI two-vehicle accident on 90th Street East near East Avenue Q.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, tragedy struck around 9:25 p.m.
 
A preliminary investigation determined that 20-year-old Jaime Gonzalez allowed his southbound vehicle to veer into northbound traffic. Gonzalez’s vehicle, which had been traveling at an undetermined speed, slammed head-on into a northbound car driven by Pablo Barrios.
 
Unfortunately, Barrios, of Los Angeles, sustained fatal injuries and died shortly after.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics shuttled Gonzalez, as well as 26-year-old Lourdes Santos and 4-year-old Sophia Barrios — the passengers riding with Pablo —to a local hospital with major injuries.
 
In their investigation, officers determined that DUI likely played a role.
