Gilberto Camarena Dies in Pedestrian Accident on 215 Freeway [Perris, CA]
Fatal Car and Pedestrian Accident on 215 Freeway near D Street in Perris
PERRIS, CA (July 25, 2020) – Police identified Gilberto Camarena as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident on 215 Freeway northbound on late Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near D Street around 10:50 PM.
Based on a report, the victim was stumbling around, waving his hands, and yelling at passing vehicles prior to the crash. Consequently, a passing vehicle struck the victim.
As a result, Gilberto Camarena died at the scene. Finally, the Riverside County coroner’s office identified him as a 23-year-old resident of La Puente.
However, it’s still unclear why Camarena was in the roadway. At this point, officials from the Riverside County Fire Department are still investigating the case.
