Deborah Geneau Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision on Stockdale Highway [Bakersfield, CA]
Driver Deborah Geneau Dies in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 23, 2020) — A multi-vehicle hit-and-run collision on Stockdale Highway near Don Hart Drive West turned fatal.
Deborah Ann Geneau died in a car crash on Wednesday.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, one of three cars heading westbound on Stockdale Highway drifted and collided with the other two vehicles.
As a result of the impact, one car went airborne and landed on the roof of a car heading in the opposite direction. The eastbound vehicle then drove across the center divider before crashing. Unfortunately, the eastbound driver died at the scene.
According to Bakersfield Police, the driver of the car that went airborne suffered minor injuries while the driver who initially drifted fled the scene.
Because help is needed, investigators encourage witnesses with information regarding the driver or vehicle’s whereabouts to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
Geneau’s surviving family set up a GoFundMe to cover unexpected living expenses.
