Speeding Car Crashes into Home on Pine Avenue at Eardley Avenue in Pacific Grove
PACIFIC GROVE, CA (July 19, 2020) – A woman and a 13-year-old boy suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Pine Avenue on Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Eardley Avenue.
Based on a report, a Volkswagen was speeding when its driver lost control while attempting to turn onto Eardley. As a result, it crashed into a home where a family of 3 was enjoying breakfast. Consequently, the Volks crashed through the walls of the house.
The Volks driver ran away from the scene. Paramedics found a passenger, a woman, lying on the ground. They took her to Natividad Medical Center for treatment of injuries. In addition, they sent a boy to a hospital in the Bay Area for treatment.
Police later found and arrested the driver at a nearby park. They charged him with felony hit and run. However, an investigation into the case is on-going.
Authorities strictly remind motorists to not leave the scene after an accident. However, wait for the authorities to arrive. Always stay sober, manage your speed, and avoid reckless driving to avoid getting into an accident.
