Motorcycle Rider Killed in Accident on 15 Freeway [Sun Valley, CA]
Rider Struck and Killed by Big Rig After Initial Crash in Sun Valley
SUN VALLEY, CA (July 19, 2020) – Police confirmed that a motorcycle rider got killed in an accident on 15 Freeway southbound on late Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Lankershim Boulevard at approximately 10:40 PM.
Based on a report, the 24-year-old Anaheim man was already down in the road after he was thrown from his motorcycle in an initial crash. Hence, a semi-truck came and struck him. In addition, the truck driver did not stop at the scene.
Emergency crews said the victim died at the scene. They did not release his identity pending kin notification. They rescued another person, a 22-year-old man, on the roadway. However, they did not know if the victim was also struck by the truck. They took him to a hospital with major injuries.
CHP officials don’t have additional details this time. However, they ask anyone with information about the crash to call the Altadena station at 626-296-8100.
