IRVINE, CA (July 23, 2020) — A 52-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident near Silkberry and Hazelnut Tuesday evening.
 
According to the Irvine Police Department, the fatal crash happened around 6:30 p.m.
 
The unidentified victim suffered grave injuries, which urged paramedics to transport him to a nearby hospital. However, medical staff pronounced him dead shortly after as attempts to save him fell short.
 
Meanwhile, the driver involved stayed back and cooperated with police investigators.
 
Alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as factors in the accident. At this time, details remain unclear, such as whether the man had been in a marked crosswalk at the time and at what speed the driver had been going.
