Zachary Turner, Jesus Barragan Injured in Fatal DUI Accident on Highway 28 [Rock Island, WA]
Zachary Turner, Jesus Ibarrabarragan Hospitalized Following Deadly DUI Collision on Highway 28 Near Milepost 16
ROCK ISLAND, WA (July 21, 2020) – A 36-year-old died in Saturday’s DUI two-vehicle crash on Highway 28 near Milepost 16.
According to a news report, Jesus Ibarra Barragan allowed his 2001 Nissan Maxima to travel to the right shoulder. He subsequently over-corrected his westbound vehicle, which then crossed the center line. From there, the Nissan collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Zachary Turner, of Quincy.
The impact of both cars caused Turner’s Chevrolet to go over the guardrail and come to a rest on the south shoulder.
Per the Washington State Patrol, a passenger riding with 41-year-old Barragan died at the scene. However, the victim’s name has not been released.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported Barragan, of Quincy, as well as Turner, 30, to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee with unspecified injuries.
During the investigation, authorities determined that Barragan was under the influence at the time of the crash, which occurred around 7:36 p.m. and resulted in significant traffic early Sunday.
No other information surrounding this fatal crash was available.
