Woman, 8-Year-Old Girl Killed in DUI Crash on Ramona Expressway [Perris, CA]
DUI Driver Involved in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Ramona Expressway at Perris Boulevard in Perris
PERRIS, CA (July 20, 2020) – Police confirmed that a 75-year-old woman and an eight-year-old girl died in a DUI crash on Ramona Expressway on Monday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Perris Boulevard around 10:00 PM.
Based on a report, three vehicles collided at the intersection. The commotion occurred after a Mercedes ran a red light and hit a Dodge Durango. Consequently, the Durango struck a Honda Accord.
Emergency crews confirmed that two people inside the Durango, the 75-year-old woman and the 8-year-old girl, died at the scene. They did not release their names pending communication with their families. In addition, there were other motorists who suffered minor injuries. Crews took them to an area hospital for treatment.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, alcohol or drugs are thought to be a factor in a crash. However, officials are still investigating the case. Hence, they are asking witnesses to call them at 951-210-1068.
