45-Year-Old Kelley Ball Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Sisk Road [Modesto, CA]
12-Year-Old Girl Killed in DUI Crash on Sisk Road at Plaza Parkway in Modesto
MODESTO, CA (July 19, 2020) – Police arrested 45-year-old Kelley Ball after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Sisk Road on Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Plaza Parkway at approximately 7:00 PM.
Based on a report, Ball was driving a 2006 Jeep Laredo when she struck a 2013 Nissan Altima. There were four occupants inside the Nissan. Police said Ball ran from her car and into a nearby Walmart where she attempted to take a face mask and shoes.
Emergency crews pronounced a 12-year-old girl dead at the scene. They did not release her name pending kin notification. In addition, crews sent the Nissan driver, the girl’s father, to the hospital with major injuries. The girl’s 15-year-old brother also had major injuries. Crews airlifted him to a Bay Area hospital. The fourth occupant of the Nissan, the girl’s mother was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police later found Ball. As a result, they charged her with murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony hit-and-run, vandalism, and felony DUI.
