Driver Killed in T-Bone Accident at Highway 180 and South Academy Avenue [Sanger, CA]
Fatal Two-Car Collision in Sanger
SANGER, CA (July 17, 2020) — One person was killed during Wednesday night’s two-car accident at Highway 180 and South Academy Avenue.
The incident befell around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection, which has a traffic light.
According to California Highway Patrol, a Honda Civic traveling northbound on Academy Avenue collided with an eastbound Nissan pickup under unclear circumstances.
An investigation showed that the Nissan driver collided with the driver’s side of the Honda, which proved both cars’ direction of travel.
However, it’s unclear as to which driver ran a red light.
Unfortunately, despite life-saving attempts, paramedics pronounced the Honda driver dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, fire paramedics transported the Nissan driver to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno for further evaluation.
Other factors that played a role in the accident, such as speed or DUI, require further investigation. If anyone has more information regarding this incident, please reach out to the police.
Our condolences are with the bereaved family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.
