Teenage Girl Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run on Yakima Avenue [Tacoma, WA]
Teenager Run Over by Hit-and-Run Car in Tacoma
TACOMA, WA (July 11, 2020) – Crews sent a teenage girl to the hospital following a hit-and-run in the 5900 block of Yakima Avenue on early Saturday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near 59th Street at approximately 1:30 AM.
Based on a report, a confrontation took place between a man and three teenagers. Police said the three teens were walking down the street when a man in a purple PT Cruiser pulled up beside them and accused them of beating up his brother. The man reportedly got out of his car and a fight occurred. After that, the man returned to his car and ran over one of the teens. He then fled the scene after the incident.
As a result, the girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Crews took her to the hospital for treatment.
The teenagers described the man as white, bald, and between the age of 50 and 60. At this moment, the police don’t have any information about his identity and location. However, they continue to work on a search and investigation.
