2 Hurt in Car Accident on Duncan Canyon and Coyote Canyon Roads [Fontana, CA]
Drivers Hurt in Fontana Two-Car Collision
FONTANA, CA (July 16, 2020) — A two-car accident on Duncan Canyon and Coyote Canyon roads resulted in injuries Saturday.
According to reports, the Fontana Police Department and San Bernardino County firefighters responded to the scene to find two cars with damage.
Around 11:28 p.m., they found a black Honda Accord overturned but back on its wheels. In addition, police located a blue Honda Civic, found a short distance away.
Fortunately, the Honda Accord driver was able to extricate himself from the vehicle and suffered only a minor laceration to his head.
In the investigation, authorities determined that the Honda Civic began making a left turn onto Duncan Canyon Road after making a stop at Coyote Canyon Road; however, the Honda Accord driver, heading eastbound on Duncan Canyon Road, failed to stop at the stop sign.
As a result, the cars sideswiped each other at the intersection. This caused the Honda Accord driver to lose control and strike the center divider before rolling over. Meanwhile, the Honda Civic came to a stop in the westbound lanes of Duncan Canyon Road.
Reports say that both drivers complained of minor injuries and declined medical transportation.
At this time, where the fault lies and other contributing factors, such as impairment or speed, require more investigation.
