Skateboarder Hit, Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver in National City
NATIONAL CITY, CA (July 10, 2020) – A skateboarder suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run on East Fifth Street on early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Palm Avenue at approximately 12:30 AM.
Based on a report from National City police, a man was skateboarding with friends when a vehicle traveling northbound approached and struck him. In addition, the driver left the scene after the incident.
Paramedics sent the victim to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment of a serious head injury.
As of today, officials don’t have a detailed description of the vehicle or its driver. However, they continue to investigate the hit-and-run.
Authorities strictly remind motorists to not leave the scene after an accident. However, wait for the authorities to arrive. In addition, always stay sober, manage your speed, and avoid reckless driving to avoid getting into an accident.
