Teen Dies in Wrong-Way Accident on 605 Freeway Near Ramona Boulevard [Irwindale, CA]
Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Irwindale Wrong-Way Accident on 605 Freeway
IRWINDALE, CA (July 6, 2020) — A woman died following Saturday’s wrong-way accident on 605 Freeway near Ramona Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 19-year-old woman drove a 2003 silver Nissan. The teen traveled in the wrong direction when she crashed into a 2014 Freightliner.
The woman, reportedly a resident of Baldwin Park, died at the scene. The 42-year-old man driving the FedEx big rig complained of pain and sought his own treatment.
Per CHP, crews arrived to find the Nissan wedged underneath the big rig, which urged crews to close the area around 11:08 p.m. to clear the scene and investigate.
However, since details remain unclear, CHP encourages any witnesses with information to call them at 626-338-1164.
Our hearts and sincere sympathies go out to the bereaved family and friends of the victim.
