Boy Hit and Injured by Car in Lompoc Bicycle Accident on West North Avenue
LOMPOC, CA (July 10, 2020) — A 14-year-old boy suffered serious injuries Wednesday when he was struck in a bicycle accident on West North Avenue near North I Street.
According to Sgt. Bryan Dillard, under unclear circumstances, the driver struck the 14-year-old around 3:15 p.m., causing him serious injuries.
Reports say the boy fled from the crash scene, but authorities found him approximately a block away.
Shortly after the accident, Calstar medical helicopter landed at the Lompoc Airport to airlift the boy to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. As of late, his condition is not known.
Reports featured no information surrounding the driver, at what speed the car had been traveling or who had been at fault; however, the Lompoc police are examining these outstanding details more closely.
