Salvador Ulloa Killed, Anna Alvardo Hurt in Yuma Car Accident
YUMA, AZ (July 9, 2020) — A head-on collision on Highway 95 near County 20 1/2 Street South Thursday morning claimed a man’s life.
According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash happened around 11:15 a.m. Deputies say a northbound Hyundai Sonata traveled into oncoming traffic and struck a Honda Civic head-on.
Paramedics responded to the scene and tended to the injured victims. Unfortunately, the Hyundai driver — 66-year-old Salvador Ulloa of San Luis — succumbed to his injuries.
Anna Alvardo, the 22-year-old Honda driver, suffered serious injuries. As a result, she remains hospitalized at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
Deputies believe alcohol did not play a role in the crash but plan on investigating this case further. However, if anyone has information surrounding this fatal collision, please call YCSO at 928-783-4427.
