Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway [Kent, WA]
Semi-Truck Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Kent
KENT, WA (July 8, 2020) – Police confirmed that a woman got killed in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway southbound on Wednesday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Highway 516 just before 4:00 AM.
Based on a report, an ongoing construction closed two lanes of the freeway. For an unknown reason, the 51-year-old woman entered the road and hid behind two orange construction cones. At that time, a semi-truck approached and struck her.
Troopers and medics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. They did not release her name pending kin notification.
Crews blocked four lanes of the freeway for the crash investigation. At this point, police don’t have additional details related to the crash.
