LYNDEN, WA (July 3, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died and another one suffered injuries in a head-on crash on Badger Road on Friday afternoon.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Vinup Road around 12:45 PM.
 
Based on a report, a semi-truck was heading west on the highway when it tried to avoid a truck that was stopped and waiting to turn onto Vinup Road. As a result, the semi crossed into the eastbound lanes of the highway and hit an SUV head-on.
 
Paramedics proclaimed the driver of the SUV dead at the scene. They did not release the victim’s identity pending kin notification. In addition, they took a passenger in the SUV to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries.
 
CHP continues to investigate the case. However, they don’t have additional details as of this time.
