Bicyclist Critical After Train Accident on Allen Street [Kelso, WA]
Train and Bicycle Crash on Allen Street and Cowlitz Way in Kelso
KELSO, WA (July 7, 2020) – A bicyclist suffered critical injuries after a train accident on Allen Street on Tuesday night.
According to the Kelso Fire Department, the collision happened near Cowlitz Way just before 1:00 PM.
Based on a report, a southbound train struck the victim. However, fire officials did not state the details that led to the crash.
Police found a man pinned under the train. In addition, they also found the victim’s bicycle and nearby. As a result, first responders coordinated with the BNSF Railway to disconnect about 80 feet of the train and rescue the victim. Crews rushed him to St. John Medical Center.
Kelso police will investigate the incident. However, they don’t have additional details as of this time.
