Police Arrest Man After Crash on 5 Freeway at Jellys Ferry Road in Red Bluff
RED BLUFF, CA (July 4, 2020) – Police arrested Robert Tyson after a motorcycle crash on 5 Freeway on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Jellys Ferry Road around 6:35 AM.
Based on a report, Robert Eric Tyson, 39, of Eureka was riding his 2006 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle south on the freeway when he drifted to the right while passing a semi-truck. As a result, Tyson’s motorcycle collided with the left side of the semi. In addition, impact ejected him from his bike that came to rest in the center divider.
Emergency crews took him to Mercy Medical Center in Redding by helicopter to be treated for his injuries. The driver of the 2014 Freightliner, Gurbhej Singh, 39, of Redding did not sustain any injuries.
During the investigation, CHP officers found around 12 pounds of methamphetamine and $4,500 cash belonging to Tyson. They arrested and released him to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.
