Fatal Lucerne Valley Car Accident on Highway 18
LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (July 6, 2020) — On Friday morning, two people died after a car accident on Highway 18 near Custer Avenue.
The fatal event happened around 6:44 a.m. and drew San Bernardino County Fire paramedics to the scene.
For unknown reasons, a black 2006 Nissan Altima collided with a silver unknown make and model.
Upon arriving, firefighters declared two people dead at the scene.
Subsequently, paramedics requested a helicopter for one person with life-threatening injuries. That patient was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Per news reports, three additional people required care after having sustained minor injuries.
Following the accident, officials had to close off the area to investigate and clean up the scene. However, police did not release any other information regarding the accident at this time. However, investigators encourage anyone with insight to contact the California Highway Patrol.
