Jonathan Padilla Detained after Deadly Hit-and-Run Accident

 
SANTA ANA, CA (July 7, 2020) — A man died Saturday following a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on South Fairview Street near West Warner Avenue.
 
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, officers responded to multiple calls around 1:20 a.m. about a victim in the roadway.
 
Arriving in the 2400 block of South Fairview Street, officers investigated the scene to learn that a hit-and-run driver had been involved.
 
Officers believe that a vehicle heading southbound on South Fairview Street struck the man before leaving the area. However, investigators discovered the car a short distance away, which led them to the alleged driver.
 
Shortly after, police arrested Jonathan Padilla, of Santa Ana, on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and booked him into the Santa Ana Jail.
