VISALIA, CA (July 6, 2020) — A motorcyclist died following Thursday’s crash with a DUI driver on West Caldwell Street at South West Street.
According to reports, the incident befell around 8:30 p.m. Police say Bryan Buhl was traveling westbound on West Caldwell Street and had failed to stop at the red traffic light at South West Street.
There, as he attempted a U-turn, his vehicle crossed into the path of an eastbound motorcyclist who had the right of way.
Both vehicles collided at the intersection and the rider sustained fatal injuries.
In the investigation, Buhl admitted to officers that he had failed to make that traffic light stop and had consumed alcohol prior to the collision.
Police subsequently arrested the 42-year-old on DUI charges.
There is no information surrounding the fatal victim’s identity.
