Woman Killed in Car Crash on Highway 280 [Portola Valley, CA]
Single Vehicle Fatal Portola Valley Accident
PORTOLA VALLEY, CA (June 29, 2020) – Police said that a woman from San Jose died in a car crash on Highway 280 southbound on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Alpine Road at approximately 2:30 PM.
A report showed that the 23-year-old victim was driving a white 2006 Toyota Tundra south on the highway before the crash. For unknown reasons, she drove onto the right shoulder and about 20 feet up an embankment. As a result, her car crashed into a tree before it came to rest in the lanes.
The woman who was the only person in the car died at the scene. Emergency crews found her wearing her seatbelt.
Investigators are still looking into what caused the crash. As of today, they don’t have additional information.
