Fatal Pomona Pedestrian Accident on Garey Avenue

 
POMONA, CA (June 29, 2020) — A man died Saturday night following a pedestrian accident on Garey Avenue near West Grand Avenue.
 
According to Lt. Ryan Rodriguez of the Pomona Police Department, a vehicle traveling northbound struck the unidentified man who purportedly ran from the east curve, across South Gary Avenue.
 
An officer found the victim lying on the road with severe head injuries and trauma to the lower part of his body.
 
Although paramedics arrived shortly after to transport him to Pomona Valley Community Hospital, the man died in the emergency room.
 
According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, his name has not been released pending notification of family members.
 
However, the driver passed a sobriety test conducted at the scene.
 
Since information surrounding this fatal crash remains limited, a follow-up investigation is underway.
