Lydia Salinas Killed, Delfino Santillan Detained after Farmersville Accident
FARMERSVILLE, CA (June 29, 2020) — A 61-year-old woman died in a DUI wrong-way accident Friday on West Visalia Road near Road 176.
According to Sgt. Michael Wolfe, the crash befell around 9:12 p.m. A Honda Civic traveling in the wrong direction slammed into a Toyota Camry, killing the Toyota driver.
Authorities have identified the victim and Toyota driver as Lydia Salinas.
Investigators confirmed that Salinas had picked up a passenger prior to the crash who had been unable to drive home due to being intoxicated. After that, Salinas and her passenger encountered Delfino Santillan, who traveled in the wrong direction, before slamming into their Toyota.
Per reports, Santillan and the Toyota passenger suffered serious injuries and received treatment at Kaweah Delta Medical Center. In addition, police have plans on arresting the Farmersville man on DUI charges.
