Freeway Service Patrol Driver Killed in Crash on 280 Freeway [Woodside, CA]
Freeway Service Patrol Struck by Lumber Truck on 280 Freeway in Woodside
WOODSIDE, CA (June 23, 2020) – Police confirmed that a Freeway Service Patrol vehicle driver got killed in a crash on 280 Freeway on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just north of Farm Hill Boulevard at approximately 3:40 PM.
A report from the CHP Redwood City office showed that a member of the Freeway Service Patrol was assisting a driver when a lumber truck came and hit the Freeway Service Patrol vehicle and the driver.
Emergency crews said the driver died at the scene. They did not release his name pending notification of the victim’s family.
The lumber truck driver stayed on the scene. Authorities said it does not appear that the driver of the lumber truck was impaired. However, they continue to investigate the incident.
