Steve Britton Dies in Head-On Collision on Highway 129 [San Juan Bautista, CA]
Steve Britton Killed in Highway 129 Accident Near Highway 101
SAN JUAN BAUTISTA, CA (June 23, 2020) — A 29-year-old Aromas man died Monday following a head-on accident on Highway 129 near Highway 101.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2018 Honda Civic heading westbound at an unknown speed crossed over the double yellow lines for unknown reasons. It subsequently crashed head-on into a Peterbilt traveling eastbound at speeds of about 50 mph.
Steve Britton, the Honda driver, died shortly after.
The 45-year-old Watsonville man operating the semi-truck suffered no injuries.
At this time, investigators have not determined which factors played a role in the accident. However, they will be looking at all angles to explain what drove the collision.
