Murray Roseberry Killed, Steward Helmer Detained Following DUI Accident on Highway 273 Near Breslauer Lane
REDDING, CA (June 22, 2020) — A 61-year-old man died in Wednesday’s DUI accident along Highway 273 near Breslauer Lane.
According to reports, Murray Ronald Roseberry was identified by the Shasta County coroner’s office as the man who perished. The collision, which occurred around 10:50 p.m., has led authorities to determine that the fault lies with Steward Helmer, of Anderson.
The investigation revealed that Helmer struck Roseberry, of Redding, while driving an SUV and hauling a boat. He subsequently pulled over to check on Roseberry before calling 911.
During investigations, officers learned that impairment took part in the accident and booked Helmer into Shasta County Jail.
