Scott Burtness Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Red Mountain Road [Hemet, CA]
Pickup Truck Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Hemet
HEMET, CA (June 20, 2020) – Police identified Scott Burtness as the victim killed in a motorcycle crash on Red Mountain Road on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Cougar Road at approximately 7:40 AM.
32-year-old Scott Burtness of Menifee was driving a 2020 KTM Adventurer motorcycle south on the road when he came around a curve. At the same time, an 84-year-old man was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram with a trailer north on the road. Just at that time, the truck began to turn left onto Cougar Road and collided with the motorcycle.
Speed and impact ejected the victim from his bike. As a result, emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
CHP officers are conducting an investigation. However, they do not have additional information at this time.
