One Airlifted After Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 37 [Sonoma, CA]
Vehicle Crashes into Water near Sears Point in Sonoma
SONOMA, CA (June 15, 2020) – Emergency crews airlifted one person to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 37 eastbound on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Sears Point at approximately 3:00 PM.
Responders found at least six vehicles at the scene. As a result, one car overturned and slipped into the water.
Paramedics confirmed that the car driver suffered major injuries in the incident. CHP airlifted him to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment. Other drivers and passengers involved sustained minor injuries.
The highway was closed for four hours, causing backups and forcing commuters into other directions.
Officials did not release further information. However, they continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
