Teen Driver Charged With DUI After Pedestrian Accident near Bethany Home Road
PHOENIX, AZ (June 15, 2020) – Police detained four teens after a pedestrian accident on 17 Freeway on early Monday morning.
According to Phoenix Police, the collision happened near Bethany Home Road just before 2:00 AM.
The teens’ car was exiting the freeway when it hit the pavement and struck a female pedestrian. In addition, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said that the suspects attempted to flee the scene, but their car hit a concrete barrier before stopping.
Emergency crews took the woman to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police detained all four teens in the car. In addition, they charged the driver with DUI, aggravated assault, and leaving the scene of a serious collision.
