Fort Tejon Accident Leaves 1 Dead

 
FORT TEJON, CA (June 18, 2020) — A driver died in an overturned truck accident on 5 Freeway near Grapevine Road on June 6.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. near the Grapevine Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility.
 
CHP officials determined that the driver of a pickup truck abruptly veered to the right for unknown reasons. The 2008 Lincoln Mark LT truck slammed into the left side of a Chevrolet pickup before continuing southwest and colliding with an asphalt curb and chain link fence. The vehicle subsequently overturned and ejected its driver.
 
Responding officers arrived to find the driver of the Lincoln truck deceased on arrival.
 
Crews had to close the No. 3 and 4 lanes due to investigations and clean up.
 
At this time, authorities believe DUI might have contributed to the accident but more investigation regarding this account is underway.
