65-Year-Old Man Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Vista Avenue [Lemon Grove, CA]
Fatal Vehicle and Pedestrian Crash at Broadway
LEMON GROVE, CA (June 11, 2020) – Police confirmed that a 65-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Vista Avenue on early Thursday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near the Broadway intersection at approximately 7:00 PM.
Officials said that the unidentified victim was walking in a crosswalk on Vista and, at the same time, a 2017 GMC Sierra was making a right turn at the intersection. For an unknown reason, the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
As a result, paramedics brought him to the hospital, where he died due to severe injuries.
The 47-year-old GMC driver, a resident of Lemon Grove, cooperated with the officials. Police said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash. However, they continue to investigate the case.
