Sheela Hawley Injured in Fatal Car Accident on Pacific Avenue [Kelso, WA]
Sheela Hawley Hospitalized, Passenger Killed in Possible DUI Crash
KELSO, WA (June 5, 2020) — Investigators believe DUI might have played a role in Wednesday’s fatal crash on South Pacific Avenue near Yew Street.
According to Kelso Police Department, Washington State Patrol responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. to find a single-vehicle accident. Authorities learned that the vehicle plowed head-on into a utility pole, causing significant damage to both the car and pole.
Unfortunately, a 34-year-old woman, whom officials found inside the car, died at the scene. However, police did not release her name at this time.
The driver, identified as 35-year-old Sheela M. Hawley, sustained injuries and required hospital transportation. Her current condition is unknown.
According to police, Hawley appeared to be intoxicated prior to the accident. However, an investigation into this account continues.
