Person Dies in San Jose Pedestrian Accident on 280 Freeway
SAN JOSE, CA (June 4, 2020) — A victim died Wednesday morning following a pedestrian accident on 280 Freeway at Highway 87.
According to a California Highway Patrol dispatch log, the person reportedly walked between the two lanes of the ramp from the northbound 280 Freeway to southbound Highway 87.
Under an unknown sequence of events, a vehicle struck the person around 12:20 a.m.
As a result, Highway 87 South, just north of West Alma Avenue, shut down until 1:10 a.m. The northbound 280 Freeway ramp to Highway 87 South, as well as the southbound 280 Freeway ramp to northbound Highway 87 remained closed until 2:45 a.m.
