Stolen Vehicle Involved in Deadly Accident near Rancho Tehama Road
CORNING, CA (June 1, 2020) – Police confirmed that two people got killed in a stolen car accident on Paskenta Road on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Rancho Tehama Road at approximately 4:27 PM.
Authorities said that the victims were in a suspected stolen Honda Civic traveling southbound when, for an unknown reason, it went into the northbound lane. As a result, it skidded sideways directly in the path of a Ford E250 utility van. In addition, the van broadsided the Honda on the passenger side, nearly crushing the sedan in half.
Crews pronounced a male driver and a female passenger of the Honda dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford got out of the van and left the scene.
CHP Red Bluff Office did not receive further details. However, officials asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash or observed the driver of the Ford van leave the scene to contact the office at 527-2034.
To the family and friends of the victim, we would like to express our deepest condolences to you during this time of heartache.
