Driver Killed in Wrong-Way Collision in Albuquerque at 40 Freeway at Coors Boulevard
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (May 28, 2020) — A wrong-way driver died early Monday following a crash with a semi-truck on the 40 Freeway at Coors Boulevard Northwest.
According to authorities, 911 callers informed dispatch of a black older-model Chevrolet Camaro that traveled west in the eastbound lanes. Subsequently, the wrong-way driver collided with a semi-truck, killing the Camaro driver at the scene.
Reports neglected to specify whether anyone else sustained injuries in the 12:45 a.m. accident. However, more information will be updated once more news arrives.
Due to the crash, officials closed the eastbound lanes between Unser Boulevard and Coors Boulevard Northwest.
