Karen Almas Hospitalized, Ralph Seeley Uninjured in Fatal Multi-Car Collison on Highway 166 Near Maricopa
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 1, 2020) — A 63-year-old man died in a multi-car accident on Highway 166 near Maricopa.
Reports described the fatal victim as a man from Bakersfield, whom the Kern County coroner has yet to identify.
According to the California Highway Patrol, his car veered from the west lanes. As a result, he collided with an eastbound tractor-trailer and an eastbound Subaru. In addition, the victim was not wearing his seatbelt.
Karen Almas, of San Luis Obispo, suffered minor to moderate injuries. Paramedics transported 63-year-old Almas, the Subaru driver, to Kern Medical for further treatment. However, Ralph Seeley, of Chandler, Ariz., escaped injury.
